Hey jammers! My goodness, so many deadlines and school things. I was too tired and rushed to post these past few days, sorry everyjammer! Thank you for posting for me Endangered. ^.^ Anywho, first order of business, the new item!

Hopefully this long winded post cleared up some rumors you've heard about hacking. If you have questions, leave them in the comments and I can answer you in tomorrow's post!
Happy jamming.

And finally, the topic of the post. I've noticed the hysteria around the topic of hacking on Animal Jam. It's a touchy subject for AJHQ too. However, it isn't as much as a problem as you'd think. The most common terms confused with hacking are scamming and stealing.
Scamming and stealing are tricking someone else out of their items or their password. Either way, you can do something to prepare yourself against such an attack! To avoid scamming, educate yourself on current rares and clearance items, and make sure you check for the day's item (here on AJS!) before trading anything that day. To prevent stealing, make sure your password is complicated, but easy for you to remember, and be sure to change it every few months. Never tell anyone your password, even friends and siblings. No matter what anyone tells you, never give your password away for anything. Make sure you don't stay automatically logged in!
That was just a quick summary of very large subjects. But now to more complicated "hacking." One way which is become more and more prevalent is membership hacking. If you receive a membership code from another jammer, they can remove your account and place it on their own parent dashboard. This is the reason AJHQ doesn't let Animal Jam Spirit do membership giveaways (sorry, I wish I safely could!). Don't accept membership codes from strangers!
Real hacking, through the use of a program, is quite uncommon in Jamaa. The only real danger is if you have large rares or you're very well known. Using an illegal method (which is difficult and time consuming), someone can get ahold of your password. Sadly, I'm fairly sure this is what happened to me, but there isn't a whole lot I can do about my lost rares now that they've broken in.
Happy jamming.
