Spirit Sentiment #4 - Scamming, Hacking, and Trading

Hey Jams!

To give you guys something to read while the author does their post, this sentiment is dedicated to trading, hacking, and scamming.

Trading is one of the most common activities that Jammers do during their game play. Why do we trade? We love getting new items in return for our own. With these new items, what more items could we get from it?

However, some Jammers would still rather scam or hack their way into getting these special items that will still not make them a better person. This problem is at its highest peak in Jamaa.

This makes me angry, because this doesn't make the game better for you, and some Jammers are desperate enough to fall for these scams!

Let's take a look at some of these scams, shall we?
"Try Me"

This occurs when a Jammer puts store items on their trade list (necklace, couch, pillow, etc.) and stands around while telling Jammers to "try them" because they supposedly don't accept anything. What will happen? You'll put that spiked collar for their necklace, and with a click of a button, that collar is gone.

"Trust Me"

Don't let that smiley face fool you. This is similar to the "try me" scam. The Jammer may also say "trust me for my outfit", and put a necklace on their trade list. This is also like a "contest". They'll tell you who's winning and never announce a winner.

"Gifting"

oh it's smosh40409

Now now. Gifting parties are parties where Jammers gift each other, and (hopefully) receive gifts in return. This, however, isn't something that is completely trustworthy. If you send that good gift, like a headdress, then BOOM it's gone.

"I'm poor"

Now this is a ridiculous scam. A Jammer will take their animals and make it so they don't wear clothes, or they buy an old hood to put on to make them look like a hobo. Then they'll stand around and say "gift me items, I'm poor!" or "Trade me items, I don't have any rares!"
Now listen, if you don't have any items, then start trading for small items to greater items! If you don't have gems, go play games. Having rare items doesn't make you "rich", and they certainly don't make you a better person than you already are.

"But my headdress was scammed....*cries*"

Stop trying to get Jammers to pity you.  (Sometimes this may even be a lie!) I know that being scammed is not fun, as it has happened to me before! But it's no reason to go around asking people for their belongings.

These are a few scams. If you see anything similar, then don't follow with what they say! Only use the trading system!

Hacking

Hacking that is done on Animal Jam is amateur, meaning that it is not likely that they'll attempt to break down a firewall.
However, they may try to guess passwords. Here are a few tips for a good password.
  • Make your password long.
  • Make it something that surely only you will know.
  • Make it so weird, that only you will know what it is.
Okay so these tips aren't solid gold, but they cover most of the tips for passwords. If you've got some tips for anti-hacking and scamming, then comment!

Trading

Here are just some tips for trading!

  • Only put items on your trade list that you are willing to trade or actually want to trade.
  • Try to think of what items you would like for a certain item.
  • Respect other Jammer's responses to the trade. It doesn't always matter if the trade is "fair"; what if the Jammer just doesn't want that item you traded?
  • Know your items. Look in the stores to see what items are available, and remember that beta does not mean "out of stores", and "rare" does not always mean it's a Rare Item Monday Item.
  • Only use the trading system!

Most importantly, don't scam or hack. This won't make the game any more fun for you or other Jammers. When you scam or hack, you'll be caught.

*   Happy time  *

Check out this glitch that my buddy cuteweb had happen to her!

Apparently her player card doesn't want a sweater on her fox!
Also, look at this cute animal!

It's a Japanese Flying Squirrel dwarf! With those big eyes and fluffy shape, cuddling with them would be fun!

And take a look at this majestic fluffy dog.

So majestic
Look at this silly picture of my eagle hopping!
"what now"

Thank you for listening to my tips and info!
