Hey jammers! The school season has really begun it seems. I noticed less jammers visiting and commenting last month, was it mostly because of my irregular posting? Or should I be adding something to the posts? Of course authors might make it more interesting. ^.^ Anywho, to the new item!

This happens when foxes try playing with slingshots. Those irresponsible, puffy tailed troublemakers, they really need to hold on to their toys better. Now, I don't normally add personal things...
But I thought I might as well give it a try! This is the start of an black and white illustration I've doing for a friend (she's writing a small book!). The head of Zeus, Greek god of the sky, and I was wondering if you guys have any tips on what would look cool. It's a mix between cartoon and realistic art. What do you guys think of Greek Mythology? Who's your favorite god/goddess?

It's a glitch-when something goes wrong with the coding of Animal Jam and the game goes crazy! Some glitches can be used to break the game, while others are plain annoying.

DeleteAh, it's fine, just because you're Christian doesn't mean you can't learn Greek lore! The Greeks made up stories of how things worked before they knew how they actually worked, like people thought volcanoes had fire-breathing monsters in them!

DeletePegasus is sort of a God. Except that his appearance is a winged horse. My favorite legend is the dragon. Imagine if AJHQ released dragon animals? It would be easier to put accessories on a real dragon than a fake one (when you put dragon things on a croc). Although it's "Animal Jam", the game should have a legendary animal into it, right?

- Try not to rely too much upon fans sending in pics of glitches and unreleased items
- Don't always apologize for posting late
- Don't kill yourself to post on time! @.@
- Give a little more credit to the people who find these glitches and new pics...I mean, they take the time to find/make the pictures, and you simply add them in to the caption. Try putting in their blog or YouTube (only if they have them!)! I am sure there are those out there who don't send in pics because they don't get the credit they would like.
By offering these tips, I am not criticizing your blog (which some may think I am), which is impressive!
I am just hoping you find some of these tips helpful, or at least I hope that this won't be met with a wave of hate from your devoted followers, who may see this as one long criticism.

If you're looking for art tips, i can help you a bit on that. ^^ Your drawing looks super awesome, and i love what you're doing with the realistic-cartoon blending. only thing is, did you use a symmetry tool? because even the faces of the gods aren't perfect! it might look a little cooler /more realistic (as in sensical)if he is not perfectly symmetrical! just a tip, you don't have to take it to heart or anything. keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteThe first thing I notice is probably the nose. Zeus has a larger, more pronounced nose. Remember, noses are three balls.
Also, the eyes are a bit too angular and look sideways almost. We humans have eyes in the front of our face. It's an easy fix really. You don't even need to change the style, just make them face forward.
As the person abouve said, no one's face is symmetrical. Eyes, wrinkles, etc should not be mirrored. Otherwise it has the looks of a doll.
Other than that, I think it looks great. Keep up the awesome work, Snowy! c:

First off, Athena. Second I think you should redo the eyes. Remember, just my opinion. It is well drawn and everything yet it is too fake, maybe add shadows? I like it, it's just the eyes.
