So! What are your thoughts about rares returning to Jamaa? I understand this is a little unfair on rare-collectors, but we shouldn't blame AJHQ

Fox Hats came back in 2013, so I wouldn't be surprised if they came back this year (they will don't worry :D)

I'm a little upset with this RIM because I had a red glove and now it's in stores- but only for today. On the other paw, I can get a black glove that I want. So that's kinda good. I also had more gloves, but I sent them away. c; But I don't have any stories for this Monday Mystery. >.<

@ gemmarocks112: Fox hats were brought back as a RIM exactly last year. RIM in April 2013, so they kinda were already back. And this year is nonmember gloves.

Gemmarocks, usually you cannot buy rares in JMC, but AJHQ has recently been bringing them back for Rare Item Monday. And like pink said, the beta version of a game is usually the testing mode of a game. Items that were created in the beta version of Animal Jam are called betas.

DeleteHunger, just be happy that you did hard work collecting rares. Even if they return you should be happy about yourself because you did good work collecting them. Anon, hard work won't be gone for nothing. It might be gone but it doesn't mean you wasted time collecting rares when they return after a while. It's because trading is some sort of a hobby and most people love trading.

DeleteI hope Rares do come back. Rares are a way to scam people, and if everything came back, it would be okay. I also am a huge collector of Rares. But when I was on during Beta, there were really NO rares. Imagine that. There was no need for trading early on. If you lost a sent item it was just 300 Gems. Everyone was equal, and it would be AMAZING if it could be that way again.
DeleteIt wouldn't be as bad if Rares didn't look cool (I LOVE the way Spikes and Founders look!!), but they do. And when new players join AJ, they have so much fun before they discover Rares.

DeleteI wouldn't say that, what new rates have they come out with so far? It's not a negative thing to be in the past. Older items are better looking and more jamaasian. I know I like the older rares better then any "new rares." I'm little disappointed about the gloves because I spent a long time collecting them, but it's great for new non members who want a good rare.

DeleteWell, for one thing, the new code, THANKS, gives imprisoned phantoms. the code could expire at any time and people would start trading valuable items for it. The golden egg from the the egg hunt could become rare because the egg hunt won't be here for long. AJHQ is actually making rares, and not many players are noticing.

Actually, the old gloves without the rare plaque now have one. Check your inventory - if you had any gloves without the rare plaque they'll have one now. Same with scary bat wings. The only glove (in that shape) that doesn't have one is the silver glove in epic wonders.
DeleteOh my goodness, I hate it when people flip out when rare items return! I understand if you worked hard for the item, or it's extremely valuable, you'd be dissappointed, but eventually rares return-except for Rare Item Mondays and Founder's hats. So, really, most rare items are worthless. Some aren't even rare, just high in demand, or have that golden tag slapped onto it. People don't even understand what rare and beta mean. Rare means to be uncommon, not many around. Beta is a computer term, used for the testing periods of a program or game- not an item sold in Animal Jam beta. Apparently whatever isn't in stores is now rare or beta, people even use beta as an adjective now! Seriously, one time I was in a friend's den, and one of her friends was like

i agree with so even though some people will just "turn away and slam the door" in anger returning rares is a good idea bc it gives jammers who haven't been around too to get some good rares to start them off. like when the fox hats came back that one day i was thrilled!

OMG Thank you Nebula! I agree with you. People shouldn't be such drama queens when rares come back. When rares come back that I already have, I get a bit upset and then go on with my life. (: And the word "beta". You don't know how many Jammers I've seen speaking it wrong. It annoys me so much. People are like: "Trade me I have beta sunglasses!" or "Scary antlers are very beta!" or "Trade me I have beta on trade!" -looks on list and sees pile of snowballs-. Just no. Many people find even the smallest things important to them, so I wouldn't judge them if they were so into pixels. And who knows, pixels may form you into a better person. People play video games, which are made up of pixels, and sometimes good comes out of that. I wouldn't get mad at someone for liking something that many may not care about.

@Ronen Rares are pixels, though! I'm expressing my opinion as well, why is this such a huge problem? I don't understand why you make such a big deal out of people having opinions and being entitled to them. I was never bashing rare collectors either, I have no problem with that! You're not being fair to me, or the people whom agree with me, by being such a smart-alec and saying we're "bashing" people who do enjoy collecting rare items. It's an innocent hobby, it's just a bit of a problem when people where obsessed with them and addicted to the point they withdraw from everybody, become antisocial, and waste all their time playing little flash games instead of doing something productive. And before you go all "look who's talking" on me, using the computer is more of a hobby and pastime for me, and I can be productive on there as well-I'm a digital artist, and I write stories! So, hopefully you don't have any trouble with me being myself and having my own opinions.

I don't see why collecting rares in and playing an online game isn't something considered productive. And I never actually mean the person expressing the opinion. I always mean in general. People take what I say in all the wrong ways. Nobody is making a big deal about people having opinions. I can counterattack both sides of almost any opinion. And I would never judge somebody and say, "look who's talking". I really don't know anything about you, other than you digitally producing art and writing stories.

DeleteI not sure what I am, but I was thinking about it and someone said AJHQ said members should have every thing because they pay. Well if that was true.....WHY HASNT AJ GONE MOBILE I mean it can't be that hard to make it so that kids can play on I pad and I pods, right? But that's cool that they are bringing back betas. Also I wanted to bring something up, so we all know over by mt. Shiver it's looks like a new land. I looked at some old photos and I saw that some of the other worlds used to look like that. So we may soon have a new world. I think that would be really cool. Also for today's mystery I think that most of the betas and the rares are coming back because of summer, or a repeat of the beta testing? Also did anyone see how Liza looks really mad on her statue? She must really not like water. Hmm and rare gloves strange I have seen a lot of ppl with rare gloves lately like they are the next big thing, who knows?

Once upon a time, the first new animal was coming out.
But it was for members only. It was a giraffe.
"That's not fair! WE DESERVE IT!", the non members cried.
"NO YOU DON'T!", the members howled.
And for years, the members and non members hated each other.
Hated.. is a strong word. There is SOME tension between members and nonmembers, but not with everybody. I've heard some nonmembers say that members are calling nonmembers idiots, and they have no brains, but I have never experienced that.

DeleteOk here goes my story. I'm not gonna put my full user in, but I will write the story for fun!
ReplyDeleteWhen all the items from early Jamaa were leaving, everybody was upset because they barely have anything to wear. The non-members started to have less items they are allowed to buy, which makes them feel excluded to members. But there was once a Jammer full of those items (a wolf) and people were surprised on his outfit. They should've bought the items before they left after seeing the Jammer. He was kind and everybody thinks he's cool. One day, when Jammers were saying hi to the rare Jammer, one of them (a koala) asked:
"What do you think about those rares?"
"Well, this world should start to become a trading, scamming and hacking area that everyone cares about these items."
The rare Jammer spun around, holding his beta items around him.
"Wait, what is scamming?"
"Give me your items so I can show you."
The Jammer frowned but the rare Jammer seemed nice so he gently put his most valuable item that his friend gave to him into the rare Jammer's paw. The rare Jammer gave a non-rare collar in return and ran away.
"Oh, I'll prove that you are a mean dog who's cruel and wants to be cooler than others!" the poor Jammer shouted at the running wolf.
The poor Jammer rose up to his feet in front of the stone in Jamaa Township.
"Guys, that rare Jammer is mean, he stole my item that is valuable to me!"
Several Jammers with some rare clothing like the rare Jammer stood up.
"He did nothing! He's too cool to be treated this way. He's right, this world should be about trading and stealing!"
But other Jammers who are poor and some of them were crying defended the poor koala.
"He did, he did this to us! All he wanted to do is split you and your items apart, as if slicing your heart. Everybody is equal. I don't find him cool anymore."
The poor Jammer smiled. But there are Jammers who didn't meet with him at all. They're peeps who are poor or not but they don't care about rares. They only like them in appearance and not value.
To this day, many people started to get rares from the cool Jammer and didn't listen to the Jammers who were telling the truth about him. The poor Jammers heard him say that all wolves and members deserve rares because they're cooler and have more power.

Alright here's a message to everyone. Don't scam, people. It's not cool. If you are a scammer, what will your feelings be if YOU were scammed and not careful with your items? Remember the Jammer on my story saying that it's like someone slices your heart in half (to stop you falling in love with yourself and who you are, reason why peeps quit after being hacked or scammed). Here's another thing you should know: rares are just pixels. If you brag for a rare, just think again. Do you need a rare so bad? Do you have to annoy someone until he/she gives you that item? Do you think rare but useless pixels are something you need in life? NO. The answer for all 3 questions is no. But don't put yourself down, just feel as if you're a happy Jammer. Here's one question for everyone: What will the future look like if this problem continues? My guess will be is AJHQ shutting the game down because of the ruined AJ it is today. I love beta times better and I still wanted it a little bit like the beta (I know we can't bring it fully back, just some features from beta). The Jamaasian Movement must go on!!!!!

My name is snow and long time ago I was in a fight with a friend. This may not seem like a big deal, but we had been friends for so long this shocked all of are friends. Sadly when the fight was over I had to leave. I had to go to save greenly we were going to go together but now this was not possible any more. She had her friends who all wanted to know why she didn't come with me. Any way back to me, I was at a camp getting ready for a new adventure, not know what lay ahead for me when I saw my friend I tried to say hi, but she didn't hear me. As I started to call again I saw that my party group was leaving without me. As I rushed to catch up with them i looked back. I can imagine all the Youtube videos raging and ranting on this right now . . . I have mixed feelings on this but I'm actually feeling very happy I think. A lot of complaints are that AJ is becoming more and more about being rare and beta. With the returning rares and beta items things are losing value and they can't be ranked as highly as they were. Sorry if people don't like my opinion but I'm really starting to warm up to AJHQ's ways of annoying a lot of people, also, points for the NM item! (Now the color changing on this item is a WHOLE different story . . . )

DeleteThe white glove, in my opinion, is the hardest to trade, because it looks just like the silver glove, the only difference is the black knuckle part, but you have to EXPLAIN this to most people and even then they won't be convinced or they will pretty much say ahh I could always get a silver one.. ughhhh they could've made the default color ANYTHING but white! WHY AJHQ!!!?!?

I'm so happy gloves came back. I hope AJHQ will bring rares back, I am SICK AND TIRED of having to over trade for EVERYTHING, and get undertrades for everything of mine. I wish I could just BUY a collar, or BUY a rhino helmet, OR BUY A MECH!!!! It's stupid!! I hate rares and wish they never existed, all I use them for is outfits, no I don't give a crap if they come back, besides, maybe there wont be anymore bratty rare ppl and scammers!
ReplyDeleteI think Animal Jam is bringing back the rares because they feel like they want non members in for more items, and some jammers may feel bad that they aren't getting rare, so then Animal Jam decided to bring back rares so they stop getting complaints about not being rare from a few jammers. I think it is kinda odd that they are coming back as well, and I think Animal Jam is trying to say, 'Hey, we aren't greedy. We do not want money. Maybe the Diamond Shop was put there not just for bringing back rares.' So, they put some beta rares into the stores for jammers to believe in them when they say they are not greedy.

The alphas are always out exploring and battling phantoms. They sometimes even find dropped or left behind things. But of course they know what's happening back in Jamaa. They notice a lot of jammers don't have these things, and would be very excited to get some. And since they want Jamaa to be as fun and cheerful as it can, and everyone to be happy,they brought back these neat items for everyone.

I thought it must of came from the volcanic rocks down from under the earth of Jamaa as good old Snowy I thought it was a good idead to investigate where this came from, I followed the path where eventually lead me to the volcano. All of a sudden I turned to see the bold alpha Graham stand before me his words of wisdom flowed like a river out of his mouth he spoke " young snowy I see you have found this precious metal this you see holds alot of destruction in the land of Jamaa as it does piece, choose carefully what you do with it as you see you can not go any further you must go back for the sake of Jamaa". I listened and bid my fairwell

As of new generations of jammers came there was kindness and jealousy as generations became to trade and hand down their items I for one have wondered is there a darkness of this sunlight? I was going for a nice stroll one day and I heard a pattern of weeping must this be the sorrow? A lone koala crouch by the bridge crying tears falling drop by drop into the river I knelt down beside him " what's wrong oh little one?" He replied " I lost my great grand koalas favourite pair of gazelles it was his prized item and was all I have". Snowy listened in sorrow and tears also joined the koala... I knew Graham was right.. I knew I should of stopped snowy kept in touch with this koala and grew to know the horrible truth of Jamaa. I must find out a way to stop this.. I can't stop this alone I must get the help of the land of Jamaa and put an end to it.

He scammed my rare lion, viking, beta fish fountain, and white tail. He also has a long red spike that he claims he earnt it,but I ran into the real owner of the spike that he scammed it off. He also scammed pretty much everyone at his 'so-called giveaway'.I was the first one to get scammed, no one at the scammer's giveaway believed me, and kept saying I was attention seeking. Then later they realized he was a scammer. He also scammed headdresses, worns and more that day from other jammers. So please Report and Block iimegecko1583. He has a dodgy username because the 'i' looks like a capital l. He also mostly scams by doing TT (Trust Trading) so watch out! He scammed pretty much everyone at the giveaway, so I advise you to not go near or trade him. I can't believe a game that was made for 7 year olds is now overrun with scammers and hackers. Its disgusting. Block, Report, and watch out for him, and keep safe.

Rares should be something people earn for hard work and devotion. NOT by just spending GEMS on something that people like me work hard to trade and earn. I traded 2 white rare bows to get my black glove. I still remember the old days...

ReplyDeleteSo I've been really digging on the subject, thinking about it and everything, and now it kinda makes sense. All of a sudden Jamaa are having 'Rare item Mondays', but why? Why bring back rares for a day all of a sudden? Well, most people ask AJHQ to bring back rares and betas for a day, but this is just random. But who knows if it has something to do with updates in Jamaa? Here's MY side of the story, hope you enjoy ;)
Blossom woke up bright and early on Monday morning. She looked down at her old, torn blanket and woven slippers. She looked a mess. "Perhaps I should buy some clothing from JMC? I have a few spare gems." She thought to herself. Quickly, she got dressed into her best outfit and skipped to JMC.
When Blossom reached JMC, she looked through all the fabulous jewellery, clothes and accessories. Suddenly, something shiny and valuable caught her eye. Blossom looked down at the soft item. A Rare!
Just then, Blossom's friend Princess arrived. "Princess," Blossom said shakily, "Why is there a rare in the stores?" Someone came and pushed Blossom out of the way to get to the rare item first. "One of these please, mate, thank you," his voice boomed. Blossom jumped up from the floor. "Actually, sir, I had that first.." she started, and then saw the shopkeeper put the rare into a bag. "3,000 gems please, then," he said, and took the money. "Don't worry, little bunny, we've got plenty rare gloves to sell all day."
"All DAY?" Blossom repeated, surprised. "So, just for today?"
"Yes," replied the shopkeeper, nodding, "It's a rare item Monday today."
Blossom walked home with Princess. "Rare item Monday? I shall be looking forward to next week, then!" She exclaimed.
"You're right,"said Princess, "maybe this is the sign of a mystery!

So I think it's to stop scamming. Recently there has been alot of scamming and I've heard fman122 has returned, but if it is a case of stopping scamming, it would make sense.
But what if the rare item has something to do with the new hyena - looking animal? Could it be because AJHQ are wanting it to be more special? They wanted that with the Eagle. Has anyone noticed nearly all of the rares are members only? The new hyena sounds like it's gonna be members only. Doesn't that have a connection??????????
