Hey jammers! So sorry to be delayed in this update exploration – AJHQ updated many hours later than usual, and I had a full day working as an intern at my local wildlife shelter. Hope you'll still enjoy a little post after a day of llama shenanigans! First off, the new animals...
Llamas are officially here; after leaks, rumors, clues and announcements, they have finally arrived! Sadly, you must hitail it over to the diamond shop to purchase these fuzzy deer giraffes.
Hopefully with the introduction of this new member animal AJHQ will consider allowing another animal for all jammers.
In other news, I'm the Doctor. The Llama Doctor. Doctor Thellama.
Bow ties are cool. Fezzes are cool. DOOOOOWEEEEOOO.
On the second page of the Jamaa Journal we find a new pet contest, with some pretty adorable options, doncha know.
ERMERGERD. What do I choose?! Armed-madillo, Toucan-peacock, or BABAR THE ELAPHANT???
Props to anyone who knows what I'm talking about. That's my childhood right there. In a bowler hat and black spats. Glorious.
The third page brings the return of the Freedom Party and the Freedom Plushies for the Freedom Day festival coming up. We even have a few new ones, including the chubbiest sugar glider I've ever seen.
Be sure to buy a few over in the Summer Carnival before the season ends (likely a week or so after the fourth of July). On the fourth page we have news on the llama minibook and a Wild Peaks exhibit.
The Chamber of Knowledge minibook is accompanied by the real life book over on the Daily Explorer. Click below to visit the fun new PDF construction for the newest Animal Jam animal.
And the Wild Peaks exhibit is available – it actually has some lesser known creatures featured, be sure to check it out!
As a random new feature, we have achievements and currency available in the player card instead of the main navigation.
Which reminds me, what do you think of the new navigation around Animal Jam Spirit? I'm kind of just playing around with the HTML, CSS, and JS aspects of it. Let me know your thoughts on the design!
Is it just me, or does the Rainbow Armor look like a big collection of Play-Doh? Now that I have that image in my head though...
Over on the Daily Explorer we have a few Jammer Snaps and Epic Den contest results. There are some quite creative ones!
And the long awaited den item contest has resulted in something beautiful, and something I bought in record time...
Isn't it beautiful?? And AJHQ is calling the item the MIRA Waterfall!
I'm quite glad they're referring to the guardian spirit of Jamaa by name. Kind of how I felt when AJHQ brought back the alphas' names.

Yay! Mira! Llamas! Pets! Fat Sugar Gliders! Dens! Other Exclamatory Things! This is a fun update, but the one thing I am not fond of is the new gem thing. Yes, I am too lazy to click an extra menu to find out how poor I am. Haha, I sure some of you can relate. Also, I feel an old Jamaa pride swelling with the coming of the Mira Fountain. I shall buy a boat load of them and place them on my island! Happy Jamming, y'all!

Yes, it feels like when you are trying to change the channel on your television and the remote is across the room. That once led me to watching a giraffe documentary, and I sure hope this gem thing does not have the same results. However, giraffes are pretty awesome.

Dang, I was so sure that llamas would be for gems at least, maybe even for non members, because of the fact that their sign was placed where the deer's used to be, and the deer was the last new animal for gems. Oh well, they're still really cute <3

ReplyDeleteAdorable animals, but I can't help but notice how they look precisely like a deer that has been mashed together with a horse + some fur here and there and a couple of different patterns and eyes. Yet it still sells for 10 diamonds which is annoying especially because animal jam releases every last animal in the diamond shop now.

So animal jam is only releasing animals in the diamond shop now. I mean the llama is pretty cool, but it really is nothing special. It's the same with most of the animals. Like the kangaroo. I got it on a gift card (I pride myself on being in one of your videos for being a kangaroo, snowy! :D) and I was bragging about it left right and centre. But now I realise that these animals are really no different from most of the other animals, you just need an annoyingly hard to get currency to buy them. WHY ANIMAL JAM, WHY IS ALL I ASK!!!

ReplyDeleteThe llamas are pretty cute, but I'm a little disappointed that they're diamond shop animals, even though that's what I was expecting.
I reaaallly dislike the new place for locating your gem/diamond/ect amount. It was much quicker when you could just hover over the little gem icon.
I'm pretty sure everyone hates the money thing. Like EWWWWWWWWWW :(

ReplyDeleteLlamas are here, old news of course, but very exciting! I agree with the fact that llamas are very deer-giraffe like, but also have a bit of a horsey element to their walk. It's a blend of quite e few animals, but it's just totaly ADORBIES! By the way, clever name for your llama, Snowy! heheheh
BABAR? No way. That elephant was my childhood (even though I forgot a large portion of my childhood, I still remember him...). There was some yoga book themed on that, wasn't there? Please tell me I'm not the only one who knows this. Also, I voted for pet Peacocks, and I really want them to also become a playable animal! BirdsFTW!

The Rainbow Armour has been here for a while and I despise it, excluding the tail... Wild Peaks was pretty cool, and AJHQ only moved the currencies icon probably so people spend more time on AJ, which means more money for them... har har.
There's some very nice Jammer Snaps there, and I am LONGING for that Mira Waterfall. It's INGENIOUS! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Sadly, I'm saving up my Diamonds for more dens, but I'll get it soon!
