Hey jammers!  Today's Monday, so that brings us a special colored item for today only! The bright purple Rare Camouflage Boots are available on the first page of the Jam Mart Clothing catalog.
Can't say these boots are all that exciting for me, sorry AJHQ! They have also posted an article about the increased den capacity.

Now for a mini Monday mystery! in small games around Jamaa...
Why do animals use these little gems as currency? Why did they choose that symbol? How did gems arrive in Jamaa at all?

New art is posted on the Spirit Art mini blog!

  8. I've got an idea! But this is just my imagination.
Someone build Jamaa Land for all Jammers from all over the world to come and meet each other face to face! Jamaa Land is the imitation of the real Animal Jam. There are games exactly the same as the one in AJ, dens, shops, claws, and a lot more! Also, you can buy real AJ gems with real money and use the gems, or you can earn gems by playing games in Jamaa Land!
Isn't it a fantastic idea? Sadly no one has ever make one! Reply my comment if you're interested with my idea. You can also add your own idea!

      Delete
    3. Amy-that's so cool!
I'd suggest you have a phantom game where you have to defeat the phantoms on special holidays. Like, if you have lots of gems or something, you can buy Phantom Shooters and when you see a phantom you shoot it-and you get 10 gems! (if the phantom is small, it is 20. if it is big, it is 10 or lower).

And as for the Monday Mystery...
    Ahem...

When Mira created Jamaa, animals made their items out of the world around them. Their clothing was carefully woven from the fibers of plants, and their den decor was crafted from the earth. But one day, a human came. He introduced strange items made from new fabrics to the animals of Jamaa. At first, they were terribly frightened, but then they began to grow envious. The human told them he would sell his ideas for gems. Gems were rare stones that sparkled the colors of the rainbow. Rumors told they could be found deep in the caves of the mountains. Many animals joined the greedy race to the snowy peaks. They returned with tales of adventure and countless gems. They proudly showed off their new items, and soon everyone caught on it the craze. When the human left, his greed stayed, and all the animals wanted more gems and more items. No longer was Jamaa a tight-knit community where kind and caring animals were everywhere. They now left their world alone and focused on gaining more items. Everyone forgot the old ways. Some caring animals, though, collected gems to buy only the items they really needed. They took care of the earth and made sure they spent their gems and the land carefully. They set up a system of gaining more gems by playing fun and knowledgeable games. But one day, someone discovered rares. They were willing to pay even more gems to obtain the rares, but unfortunately, the only way to obtain one was through Jam-A-Gram gifting. Cleverly evil animals came up with scamming, a way of getting rares unfairly. Many Jammers lost their beloved items and searched for more. Others avoided greed all together, and they focused more on being kind to others and making friends. They were the happiest Jammers.

  17. One day, Peck the rabbit Alpha went in search of some new materials. She was working on a new art project, but felt it looked a bit plain. Something sparkly and bright was what she really needed...

While hopping around Mt Shiveer, Peck came across a small opening, blocked off with heavy rocks. With a little help from some fellow Jammers, Peck managed to clear the opening. She wondered inside, discovering it was a huge dark cave. The cold Shiveer wind blew sharply through the cave, making small whistling noises as it passed through all the cracks of the cave.

Something caught Peck's eye. Something sparkly and bright... Just what she needed! She looked up to find millions of rounded gemstones, all hanging in a large group on the roof of the cave.

Peck went to find her Alpha friends, to show them what she'd found. "What a wonderful sight!" Exclaimed Graham. "Should we do something with them?" Greely asked. "Might I remind you we do not have any currencies here. Perhaps these gemstones will do." Replied Graham.

The gems were brought back and introduced to the citizens of Jamaa. Everyone could now buy items fairly! "It's all thanks to you Peck" Smiled Graham. "Aww" said Peck, her cheeks going pink. "It was nothin' really."

Hope you enjoyed that! By Ruby43 on Animal Jam :)

  20. Heres a little story i wrote today guys. Enjoy!
    THE PHANTOMS RETURN..........
Screams rang out on the streets, doors were bored up, and animals ran down the stone paved streets. Mira had just announced that the phantoms were returning to Jamaa. When dark shadows drifted above the streets, the animals knew it must be true. The phantoms are back, and more powerful than ever! The shadows continued to slowly drift above the roads. The Alphas and MIra had postioned themselves, ready for attack. When the phantoms reached there hiding spot, the war began. The phantoms sent lightning bolts crashing down on Jamaa, well the Alphas shot their powerful colored flames up at the phantoms. Jammers brought out swords and bow and arrows, and began to slash at the phantoms. Mira knew it was no use.
"Alphas! We need stronger and more powerful power! There is only one way we can defeat the phantoms!
    "You don't mean," Grahman gasped.
"Yes! Bring IT here now! We have no choice.
    Bring IT here............"

  23. Hmm...I think animals use that as a currency because in Jamaa, gems are really easy to find and they worth a lot. The symbol you see at the Summer Carnival means "Gems on the GO!" meaning to insert gems inside. They arrived in Jamaa after a Jammer calculated the amount of gems that are located around Jamaa, which are used as trading resources for other items. Some say spirit stones are worth millions of gems, and they think gems came from the stones.

This is just my opinion! :3

  25. Ok guys here's the story I said I would be writing later today (which is now)
In the beginning of Jamaa, when the land was still a mystery and the Great Phantom War was still being recovered over, all Jamaasians shared or traded their goods and crops, and for the more rich Jamaasians their fine jewelry and expensive clothing and den items. Though as time moved on, and Jamaa had finally rebuilt itself from The Great War, the Jamaasians started to gain in wealth and land. Many items started to become more in need, and it was hard to trade or share with others, for the Jamaasians had grown to be more personal towards their items and food. People no longer shared, and Jamaa needed a source in which they could rely on more easily, one that would please every citizen. So one day, a young seal was out exploring the frosty caves of his homeland, Mt. Shiveer; and on this sunny (but also cold) afternoon the seal (who's name was Ennis) decided to explore some new caves. And so he went, off into the snowy mountains of Mt. Shiveer. He wandered and wandered, past many caves he had played in already, until finally he was out far enough to find the new ones. Ennis looked around, rather cautious too, for his parents had worn him about the dangers of the mountains if you travelled out too far and got lost. But Ennis moved on, and he soon came across a cave, a rather large one too, and it seemed to be... Glowing? Ennis moved towards the cave cautiously, and then took a few paw steps inside. The cave seemed to look pretty normal, but the strange glow was still faintly lit in the distance. Ennis kept walking, until he felt as if the cave would go on forever. Finally, just as the young seal was starting to panic about getting lost, he stepped into a huge cavern. And in this cavern, it looked as if he had stepped into the sun itself! Glowing stones of great beauty echoed its shine off the dark cave walls, and Ennis danced around in delight of his discovery. "I must fetch my parents"! Thought the seal. And so off went he, and a generation later, that day was known as "The Day of the Rainbow", because that was exactly what Ennis had found, the rainbow, stored for centuries in an unknown cave deep in the icy mountains of Jamaa. These rocks where then taken and carved into perfect circles, and it has yet solved the problems of Early Jamaa and all the generations to come. They were known as Gems, and the story of Ennis The Young Seal has been retold to every seal family of Mt. Shiveer as each year goes on. Jamaa even honors him on Rainbow Day by each young (or old) artist donating their paintings of colors and rainbows, each hung in the same cave that Ennis discovered. This cave was later known as "The Cave of Gems" as time moved on, and carved at the mouth of the cave is the gem symbol, which was chosen because it was also Ennis's family's crest. Jamaa would never of been the same if it wasn't for one, brave little seal, named Ennis.

    3. How Gems Are Here...
A long time ago, before Jamaa was first founded, there was a dark, treacherous cave where only the bravest animals would choose to lurk inside. Rumor had it that there was some phantoms guarding some crystals in the cave-but nobody lived to tell what they saw inside. Except for Greely.
Greely was just a senseless howling pup back then. He was mountain climbing with his father, (a common sport back then), when Greely's strong wolf dad had stop to go to the bathroom in a bush. Greely, foolishly, wandered into the cave. He was too small for any of the phantom's to see. (Phantom's eyesight is very poor). Then, greedily, Greely saw some sparkling gems glittering in a corner. He packed some into his mouth-and bravely hit all five phantoms with a stalagmite. Hopeful animal miners came in, and took the gems. Mira decided that the gems would be their money-like money humans had.
Years later, technology was improving. Greely disapproved of the new "Ipaw" and other technologies. In lots of local markets, people had gem currencies to trade in blue gems (less valuable gems) for red ones. Once that was invented, it became very popular. Everyone knew it had to have a symbol-but what? Local hippo historians had told the townsfolk that it was originally Greely, himself, to find the gems, so G should be the symbol. Everyone agreed reluctantly. Other animals had told other animals that in the human world they used $ as their sign. THen, they drew a big, sloppy G with their claws, and put a straight line down the middle.
      The End :)
