Hey jammers! School is a silly thing, but it's the future, scary as it is. ^.^' But let's take a step to the legends of the past for a moment, to the story of Poseidon...
I love the Greek mythology theme AJHQ has underwater (although it's a bother that they mix it up with Roman names *cough* Venus *cough*). What is your favorite Greek or Roman myth? Perhaps share an Animal Jam version in the comments (Zeus... Zios... ehhh?)!

Dignity is slightly bothered that their dignity is compromised when their bunny's profile picture is phantomized. I mean, is that really necessary Mr. Phantom Hat? Must you have all the spotlight?
And to wrap up this short post we have the News Crew result! I really need to choose a winner to our first Spurit Crew contest, but it's so hard to decide. :(

DeleteI love Greek mythology! I've never read Norse mythology, but maybe I will! I'm pretty sure Roman mythology is the same as Greek, with just different names of characters, but I've only read one book of Roman. Is it that different?
My favorite mythology is Egyptian.
DeleteI've never read/cared about Norse, Greek is by far my favorite. Roman mythology is like Greek but the gods/goddesses have different names. Did you know that Earth is the only planet that was not named after the Roman deities?

It's just annoying because I read all the myths that the books have and then can't find any new ones DX I also love Percy Jackson. Favorite myth... ooh, this is a tough one... Hmm, I like the myth about Psyche... ooh, and Io... hmm and Persephone going to the Underworld.. and, and- okay, I'm gonna stop now XD I like Greek myths too much.

Deleteoink... I kinda like rares ( I collect rare hats like party hats a gazelles) however so people can get way over the top. I like to trade sometimes however it's nice to play with friends to!
DeleteFavorite God(s)/Goddess(es) (Greek) is Artemis, Athena, Hades, and Hestia (Yeah that's right there's a goddess named Hestia! Go look her upright now ya hear?!).
ReplyDeleteArtemis is just an awesome archer and lone woman who stands up for herself and her gender. Though I think she can be a bit harsh to her followers who fall victim to Zeus she can still be one heck of a helper!
Athena is a favorite because she values knowledge. I'm a bookworm and I love her weaving ability. Though the entire thing with the contest and turning her opponent into a spider wasn't really great I think she's still one of the best.
Hades I think is WAY over rated. He isn't as bad as he's painted to be and really I think he got the short end of the stick. I mean seriously, eldest child and yet he gets the rule the Underworld while Zeus (who is the YOUNGEST) gets the skies. Though he did kidnap Persephone I think that he could've turned out much worse.
Finally Hestia, my all time favorite myth is about her. She's one of the original children swallowed by Kronos and was saved by Zeus. She is the Goddess of Hearths and Home. She is the only major 13 (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Athena, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Dionysus, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and Hera [yesh I included Hades]) without a throne on Olympus. It goes that when Zeus wanted to make Dionysus a god and invite him to be on Olympus Hera gave a big fuss and they fought over it. She didn't want some commoner's child to be on mighty Olympus with her who pretty much partied and drunk. She refused to let Hephaestus make Dionysus a throne. In the midst of the fight it is said that Hestia silently got up and left her throne, giving it to Dionysus. She said her place was at the hearths, tending the fires in Mt. Olympus, not on a throne. In conclusion, that is why Hestia is the best goddess and my favorite.

Delete1. I learned about Greek mythology last year in school, and a little bit of Roman and Egyptian mythology. I learned so many Greek gods and goddesses, so I don't have a favorite one. I remember doing a "family tree" of all the Greek gods & goddesses, and writing an essay about one of them. I forgot almost all the info though! XD I remember right now that Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, (and one more, I think) are siblings. Sibling gods owo

Yeah mythology is pretty interesting! I read/learned in school some Greek myths and they have lots of action! Hope you learn mythology soon, or you could read Percy Jackson if you hadn't already- neither did I; only saw 1st movie :)

In my history class, we're doing a unit on Ancient Greece and their life. Amazing timing for this post! My favorite god is by far Poseidon, and my favorite goddess would be Athena. I like Poseidon because I am a CA guy, I surf, and I love the ocean and the beach. I like Athena because in my opinion, wisdom is one of the qualities vital to life. Even though Greek mythology is against my religion (I'm Catholic) I still love learning about this stuff because this era had some of the most important events in history.
