Did you know? In Mexico, the Day of the Dead celebrations are beginning soon! The Day of the Dead takes place on two days, November 1st and November 2nd. The celebration of the Day of the Dead is based on belief that souls of their loved ones will come back and visit them! Mexican marigold is the traditional flower used to honor the dead. Also, candy skulls made out of sugar are part of the Day of the Dead tradition!

Nature Archways

Nature Archways, or "Arches" as they're commonly called, are one of the most renowned den items in the game. They were released in 2012 as the July monthly gift. Contrary to popular belief, they are not beta items. They're really awesome ones, though! They work in almost any den, and are great for entryways. They're not falling in popularity any time soon. Like, you know, waterfall? Huh? Huuhhh?

Halo, Play Wild On iPhone, & Bat Animal?

Hey jammers! Today's returning item is the Day of the Phantoms Halo, sold in Jam Mart Clothing!

Everybody across Jamaa is going crazy about the new animal, so far we think it's an arctic fox because of the clue in Mt. Shiveer! Animal Jam recently teamed up with Bat Conservation International, take a look at these comments from their official Facebook page. 

AJHQ have been sharing fascinating facts and pictures of bats and Wild Explorers episodes all October, maybe the new animal is a bat? A bat animal sounds better to me, but remember this hasn't been fully confirmed yet! Pretty exciting, right?

Hello jammers! As you might have noticed, this isn't actually my day to post. However, it looks like nobody has posted a daily post, so I might as well go ahead and do it myself!

Spirit Snaps #2 Mountains, Snow and Ice!

Hey there jammers! Popsicle again with this week's Spirit Snaps!

The theme for this week is Mountains, Snow and Ice.

Mountains are massive sections of land which rise up from the area around them making them prominent. Usually, mountains are formed when two of the earth's crust plates collide and force upwards, a bit like when you push your fingertips together and they are pushed up! The highest ever discovered mountain is Olympus Mons (Latin for Mount Olympus), which is found on Mars. It's 16 miles high, about 3 times the height of earth's Mount Everest! The highest unclimbed mountain on earth is Gangkhar Puensum, which is the 40th highest mountain. It hasn't been climbed because of rules against mountaineering in the area.

Spirit Stories - Blaze - Part 1

Hey jammers!  Tallstar107 here, and I am so so so so so so excited to be bringing a new weekly topic to AJS!

Writing stories has always been a passion of mine, and now I have the wonderful opportunity of writing these stories for all of you!  As you've probably noticed, school has taken its toll on me and I haven't had the opportunity to post in a while, besides yesterday.  I think I will be taking a break from daily posts, only stepping in if there isn't a post later in the day, and instead focus on Spirit Stories.  

Spirit Stories, as you've probably already guessed, are stories based in Animal Jam that I will write in segments to form a series.  I will be posting them every other Thursday, on the no-update days.  And, you ask, how can you get in on the action?  I have a cute li'l form for that (thank you Snowy ^-^).  You can create your own character to appear in the stories!  The first couple of stories in this series, Blaze, will be centered on my character, Lis, but I hope to add in others soon!  Can't wait to see all of them :P

I know what you're thinking: "Stop rambling, Tallstar!!! Get started!"

Phantom Lamp, Epic Dragon Wings, and Floating the Trophy

Hey jammers!  Tallstar here, with the daily post!  It has been a while, hasn't it?  Sorry about that!  With so much schoolwork, I won't be on quite as frequently.  I will most likely be taking a break from daily posts until the summer, unless of course there is a rare day, such as today, where there is no post yet!  I do have other plans ( *rubs hands together evilly* ), so stay tuned!  And no, I won't spill the beans (yet).  

Today's new items are the Phantom Lamp and the Epic Dragon Wings, which were preceded by the Epic Dragon Skull yesterday.

Hehe, now I can make a skeletal dragon thing and strike terror in the hearts of all of Jamaa.

Spirit Snaps #1 Spookiness, Halloween and Night of the Phantoms!

Heyo jammers! PopsicleGT here resurrecting (resurrecting... spooky...) an old weekly post theme - Spirit Snaps! This weekly themed post is based on that of AJHQ's DE Jammer Snaps. Basically, I pose a topic, then you guys can send in some snapshots of you and your friends in Jamaa, with the snapshot being related to the theme! The best snapshot wins a prize, and I'll also try to feature all of your submissions even if you didn't win the prize!

Alrighty, let's get onto the theme! Of course, the theme is Night of the Phantoms (Halloween) and spooky stuff in general! Halloween is a yearly celebration which is celebrated on the 31st of October! It also goes by the name of  "All Hallow's Day" and "All Saint's Eve". It is celebrated by the usual Trick-or-Treating, making pumpkin Jack-O-Lanterns, dressing up in scary outfits and much much more!

Hey jammers! Snowy here again with a little Tuesday news post. First off we have the lovely new Day of the Phantoms items!

The classic Epic Dragon Skull (surprisingly located in Jam Mart Clothing this year) and the spoopy Spooky Table (for sale in Jam Mart Furniture). Two pretty sound additions to the holiday, doncha think?

And down in Jamaa's oceans we have the returning Airplane Wings, in Bahari Bargains.

Deer are now exploring! Perhaps this is a glitch? Surely AJHQ would have announced the deers of Jamaa will go exploring in the Jamaa Journal. Let's hope deers return from their travels around the Jamaaliday season, in December! 

Spikes Return, Bubbling Cauldron, and Spiked Spine

Hey jammers! Tig here, for this weekend only Spiked Wristbands and Spiked Collars are being sold in the diamond shop for 3 diamonds. Since they departed last year from Jamaa, they've become quite rare and popular. Grab yours before they're gone!

I understand a small majority of jammers will be angry at AJHQ for bringing back spikes, but it's only for the weekend. AJHQ just want to be fair and let other jammers have a chance! Anywho, the Giant Phantom (Jam Mart Furniture) and Clown Mask (Bahari Bargains) are today's returning items.
