And an exclusive sneak peek at the AJ's Insiders Guide!? I have my own copy, but honestly there were only a few pages about Animal Jam that interested me. There was plenty of fact filled fun though! This book has some interesting information about the alphas, and tells the stories about how the Phantoms came to be, and about mysterious stones called heartstones'. You jammers should read it!

How do you jammers feel about AJ's approach to betas? Are you happy you have something marked 'beta'? Do you think marking an item 'BETA' doesn't make it beta in the gaming sense at all? Do you think this is reducing scamming and hacking?

ReplyDeleteWell, the "beta" name doesn't really make sense since they aren't actually beta, AJHQ should have just given them normal names, like "TV" Instead of "beta" TV.
Yes, it might reduce scamming and hacking because the items look beta, but almost all scammers and hackers like items for their RARITY, not their looks so it's not very effective.
Im quite happy with the beta items though, they have a "beta" look and i mostly judge items for their looks.

ReplyDeleteMost new jammers might not know that though. I agree they are not beta. AJHQ might have been trying to reduce scamming but I don't think it will work. Beta items were in the testing stage of Animal Jam, and I has been a long time since it. I think some jammers that want the beta days to return need to get out of the past because they wont.

ReplyDeleteI haven't bought myself an Insider's Guide, mostly because I'm trying to NOT be on Animal Jam as much, but it is a very cool Guide, as I've seen from all the posts.
MisterChunkyBuddy did a very splendid job with the drawing. I can't draw that well in the Art Studio! Good job!
Now, Written Wednesday: I like the new approach that Animal Jam has at betas, but I don't think it will reduce scamming and hacking, sadly. The marking of Beta might just be because these items were built off of original designs that AJHQ had but never released. But putting "Beta" now, so far from the Beta testing, doesn't really make any logical sense.

ReplyDeleteFor Written Wednesday, Animal Jam's approach with the Beta party won't really reduce scamming and hacking. Most people who scam or hack go for in demand items, such as Headdresses and Spiked Collars/Wristbands. The items may be designs Animal Jam originally had but never released, you never know.
Written Wednesday: I don;t really like how they put "Beta" on everything when it's really not. I think they should put "Old T.V", or "Old pink jar"

ReplyDeleteFor Written Wendsday, I feel the beta party isn't even really beta at all. You look around and see items like Bubblegum Machines, Art Easels and Blue Mats. But at the shop down there all you see is fake den betas. Could they at least add clothing betas if they can you these fake den "betas"? It would really reduce scamming. AJHQ made a poor party choice cause it is not even close to a real beta party.

It makes no sense to mark anything beta at all because if it came out years after beta than how can it be beta. As owner of a beta meuseum these will not appear anytime soon.
