There are also occasionally parades, I've gone to some once in a while. Many people have barbecues and stuff too! Lol, yesterday my mom and I went to the store to get some stuff and they were out of hot dog rolls and Utz potato chips :p

They got them for Monthly Member Gifts, before there even was a Diamond Shop. People received them during the month of March in 2012. You can now only get them by trading. :( Here is a picture of the other four beta tails.

Those aren't obtainable in the game as far as I know, they were old member gifts a 10000000 years ago :< (obvious exaggeration) People call them "beta" tails sometimes because of this. xD
