AJ Lore – Story of Jamaa

For our first post on Jamaa's forgotten history, I have a rendition of the classic story of the beginning. the Story, in fact. As with any good story, it's a little different upon each retelling. So let us begin...
For every world, dimension, and universe there exists a story of how it came to be. Sometimes there are many stories, and sometimes there is just one. Our Jamaa is of the latter kind, and our one story has been passed down for generations by those who treasure the mystery it holds. And I'm here to tell it to you today...
Once upon a time, or perhaps before time, there was nothing. And then, there was something. I'm no expert on creation, I really can't say how it all works. But that something, it thought. And that something, it called itself Zios. It appeared to be male in our eyes, as we later decided, though I don't believe universe creating deities have a gender. He, she, or it created it though, the universe.
Zios created many stars and planets, and set them in motion. His creatures, his children, grew and flourished in their many worlds, and he loved them all. But that did not fill the emptiness in his metaphorical heart. So Zios created his greatest masterpiece: from the essence of all beauty, kindness, and hope. From the spellbinding tails of fiery comets and the brightest centers of ancient stars.
We know of this second deity as Mira, a spirit who often takes the form of a grey heron. She is the epitome of what is good in our universe. She and Zios were happy together in their boundless world, and she was the inspiration for his final work: Jamaa. The world emerged from the boundaries of the impossible, and became the probable – beginning to grow and evolve into someplace special.
The oceans and the sky, the mountains and the meadows. Plants and animals, magic and mystery, homes and journeys, beauty and light. They created all things good, and breathed life into their world.
The first of every animal, the alpha, was chosen by Mira, and so prepared the world for the coming of their kind, and told the stories of the great spirits in the sky. As time passed. the jamaasians of the world looked up at the bright sky of day and saw Mira, the Sky mother, and looked up at the dark sky of night and saw Zios, the Sky Father.
And some remembered them.
Where these spirits are now is a story for another time. Why jammers seem to have forgotten them? Also a story in its own way. Our ancient texts were scattered to the wind by changed values of the citizens of Jamaa. Change isn't always bad, but we must try to hold onto our past, if only to learn from the messages it holds.
Some dismiss such legends as silly, childish, unimportant, or simply untrue. Yet a fine lines exists between such extreme labels and their counterparts. Who is to say what is true or untrue? We cannot tell one another what to believe. What is true for you is up to you, and you alone. However, I ask you not to decide upon what you feel by simply following what your eyes can observe.
Seeing a spirit isn't quite possible. Seeing Zios is like seeing time, watching a mystery unfold, or witnessing a beginning and end in the same moment. A spirit exists in the world around us. Mira is in the shine of distant stars, the happiness in a pup's laugh, and the love between family and friends. Within our hearts.
So what is this story in the end? Just a story to be told around a warm fire with good friends. It is here to remind us of the mystery and wonder in the world, and of things yet unknown.
Until next time.

    6. I remember first reading this story long, long ago. I may be wrong, but I remember something about Zios dying and his temple falling. Then Mira, being left behind by her creator she cried deeply, her tears splashing on the ground and becoming phantoms. I don't know exactly where I got this from, but I know it wasn't just made up in my mind.

      1. Zios and Mira are not gods.
      2. Jamaa is a place on earth
      3. Zios was an animal
Excuse me if I am being mean.
It just that I am a christian and I think that there is ONLY ONE GOD.
I have a huge desire to e-mail AJHQ and ask them.

WHY DID AJHQ HAVE TO DELETE THAT JAMAA LORE PAGE THAT I NEVER GOT TO SEE EVER????
why did they think it would conflict with religion? animal jam isn't even a religion it doesn't have gods, so its not a religion.
yeah. It has shamans. NON WITCHDOCTOR SHAMANS. which means they're leaders, not witches. got that?!
sheesh AJHQ why take away jamaa's precious lore??? why??

  21. Nice post Snowy! The Jamaa's history part was very cool. It was interesting to me because I never really had the chance to learn more about it till now. I remember when the conversation about that came up one day about Zios crying made the phantoms and someone laughed and made fun of me because I wasn't sure why Zios was crying in the first place. I still don't actually know why. Was it happy tears or something? Sorry for the dumb question. :p

  31. Hey snowy, what about you make a contest to write about an alpha or about Jamaa, then whatever wins gets a rare and a feature in this blog! I have a story of Greely currently, his past, only though. I'm making a story called 'The Tales of Azure, The Heir to Greely' and it mixes the adventures, the current Jamaa, and the alphas, of course.

  32. I personally don't believe that Zios and Mira are a god and goddess. I view them as a king and queen. this is my version of the story, but short.
Zios was an eagle who was born in south america, where the incas used to live. His mother had evil powers and wanted him to be evil too. But she saw the good in him and asked a warlock to kill him. But with his special powers, zios escaped and looked for a place to settle. He saw mira near a pond and said "hello" and soon they became best friends and later married and had a family. Zios using his powers helped a volcano create a small island of rock and stone, so mira and zios together made it have many biomes of plants. tHis was the night before they were going to invite animals from all over the world to com and live in it. They wanted to establish their own country. That night, zios got up out of their house, and flew to his old home. he wasn't finished with his evil mother, and wanted to get revenge on her. He only suspected to be gone for a night. He flew into his mothers home, but she spun around and threw him down a bottomless vortex full of lighting, and he was never seen again. Mira was heart broken after losing her companion zios. Her tears fell to the earth of jamaa and mixed with it's elements of life, but the tears were so over-run with anger and dispare, that when they created life, that life was bitter and evil and gnarled so much that it went away, reproduced itself millions of times and raided an attack on jamaa. Mria relized her mistake and flew all over the world to gather the shamans, once ordinary animals living in far and distant lands. Mira made a force field around her land to protect it, but then the animals coulnt get through, so the shamans collected the spirit stones to let them in.
Mira kept hid in her little home and still today is weeping and mourning in despaire of sadness of losing her beloved husband.
    THE END

  33. P.S. when zios lived in south america, he adopted the head of Vichora (i spelled it wrong), an inca god, to be his symbol, but before that he remodeld it to look more kind.

    1. Also, I think (because Jamaa was at "peace for hundreds of years",) that Mira and Zios were both born in the seventeen hundreds but because of their powers they stopped aging once they were fully grown birds.

  35. i think ajhq deleted lore because of different religion its a really big matter actually aj is world wide i think i have proof of this too i went to a beta tester party some one was holding in their den and i decided to go to some persons den that was at the party and i found that there was a little flag on the place where u type stuff in it was a German flag and i could only type words in German so i guess aj is world wide and that must make conflicts with religion cause it seems like lots of it is different around the world hope this helps.

  36. Sorry to say this snowy claw, but I disagree with this retelling.
I mean, I love the story of jamaa, (the original one OF COURSE)
    But…
    Zios is a bird.
    Not a god.

    In my belief..

    God is the ONLY god.

Don't get mad at me for being Christian.

    Please.

Its just I get fed up with people going around "worshiping" Mira and saying she's a hight goddess and things..

  67. While some worlds, like Earth, have many religious and scientific theories on how the world began, Jamaa has one unified and agreed upon story. There are many, many stories in Jamaa, but here ... is The Story.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I don't think the stories of the game conflict with your religion outside the game. ^-^ Zios is a sort of creator to the animals within the game, not you! Hehe, Animal Jam is a world within a world. In a way, as you believe in God, he was the creator of Zios, who in turn created Jamaa!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Everyone is free to believe what they enjoy to! God is worshiped by many, but he exists by names other that god. Some call him/her/it Allah! Others choose instead to pay respect to other powers. My aunt actually practices Wicca (it's a very interesting religion, you should look it up!).

    Killing someone?
    Those are sins.
    Eating pie?
Thats not a sin, unless it’s outright gluttony.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Except for me...?
And Snowy didn’t mean God or Jesus, this is just her version of The Story.
    My version is quite different.
Anyways, if you believe that God exists, it doesn’t force you to think that Zios isn’t the deceased king of Jamaa.

    ReplyDelete
  79. This story was written very well, and I love monday mystery,
but this version doesn’t fit in with my theory.. :P That doesn’t matter anyways.
    Have a nice day!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yes, but Jamaasians have different opinions on how Zios was born or how he made Jamaa, so books labeled “theories by Jamaasians” would totally be awesome!
    YOUR SUGGESTION IS DE BEST!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I was thinking that too.. KIND OF..
Well, I was thinking more that AJHQ shouldn’t touch the subject on weather or not they are gods, but still say that they created/made/founded Jamaa and that they were in love. I mean, just because AJHQ doesn’t want them to be called gods doesn’t mean that they can just throw them away altogether!

    ReplyDelete
  82. No.
It’s not canon, and besides, AJHQ would never touch the subject.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Don’t be annoyed, I haven’t read snow white or watched it in a while.
Plus, just because in the story, Zios isn’t a god doesn’t automatically make it trash.

    ReplyDelete
  84. OH MY GOSH OLD SELF STOP BEING SO DARNED RUDE TO SNOWY AND AJHQ!
Anyways, I renounce what I said.
    People have different opinions.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I didn’t have an email at the time, and I still don’t. The lore didn’t say that they were gods. It strongly hinted that they were, but this story isn’t canon anyways.
Plus, nobody knows if it’s earth or not.
    The answer was never canon.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Almost nobody?
I’m not trying to be rude, but I DO worship God, and so do thousands of other people.

    ReplyDelete
  87. *goddess
    I will, and I have.
    Sorry for the blow-up there.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I thought it was canon back then, but it’s not. He could be, or he couldn’t be.

    ReplyDelete
  89. That is very true.

    ReplyDelete
  90. And I’m not being sarcastic.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Technically, but my God is the Triune God, which Allah isn’t because the muslims believe that Jesus was just a prophet.

  92. So your aunt is a witch?
    Strange... O.o
I believe that demon magic, or witchcraft is evil, but I’ll just keep my mouth shut about it for now.

  95. I don’t think that, older self.

  96. NOT SOON, BECAUSE YOUR ELEVEN AND I’M TWELVE AND I DON’T EVEN HAVE AN E-MAIL YET!

Yes, that’s what I call him. Not dad. Daddy. This does not make me a snobby rich girl who gets whatever she wants.
