- Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

LCM of 4 and 5 is**20**

Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 20 - For the 1st fraction, since 4 × 5 = 20,

14 = 1 × 54 × 5 = 520 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 5 × 4 = 20,

15 = 1 × 45 × 4 = 420 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 520 > 420 or 14 > 15
